Ewangelia – Marka 1:21-28
“A nauczanie jego wywarło na nich wielkie wrażenie, bo w przeciwieństwie do uczonych w Piśmie nauczał ich z autorytetem”. Nauczanie Jezusa wywarło wielkie wrażenie na tych, którzy je słyszeli. Jezus nauczał czegoś innego. Dlatego możemy przeczytać w Ewangelii: “Oto nauka, która jest nowa”. Nauka, która jest nowa, ponieważ Jezus nie jest doktryną, ale jest osobą. Drugą osobą Trójcy Świętej. On jest Bogiem. Ta boska obecność jest tym, co czyni różnicę. Nie chodzi o treść nauk, ale o Tego, który naucza. W Nim nie ma różnicy między tym, czego się naucza, a tym, kto naucza. Nauki i Nauczyciel są tym samym. To jest autorytet w naukach Jezusa. Zastanówmy się: W ewangelii nie znajdujemy nauk, ale osobę Jezusa Chrystusa.
Monday of week 1 in Ordinary Time
Gospel – Mark 1:14-20
In the Gospel of today we can see two times the expression, “at once” or “immediately”. Simon and Andrew, at once, leaving their nets and following Jesus. And then, when Jesus saw James and John, He, at once, called them. This welcomes us to think about the way, the Word of God acts in our life. This is the way of interacting with God and this is the way God interacts with us. We must live the grace of the moment. We must not postpone an opportunity to love. When we have an opportunity to love, do it immediately because it’s the grace of the moment. That’s the way Jesus wants to express His love for us. Let’s reflect: Each opportunity to love is the call of Jesus to follow Him.

The Baptism of the Lord – Feast
Gospel – Mark 1:7-11
“You are my Son, the Beloved; my favour rests on you”. In the Baptism of Jesus, we hear the voice of the Father declaring, Jesus as the beloved Son. And the Holy Spirit descended like a dove expressing the presence of the Third person of the Holy Trinity. It also signifies that Christ has been anointed to bring the good news the poor. In Jesus we become adopted sons and daughters. In the sacrament of Baptism, we receive the life of Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit. And the Father calls us also sons and daughters. We are called to be pleasing to Father as Jesus Christ was. We can be pleasing to the Father by listening to the Only Begotten Son and by bringing the good news to the poor. Let’s reflect: Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of the Father and in Him we are sons and daughters of God.
The Epiphany of the Lord – Mass of the Day
Gospel – Matthew 2:1-12
Jesus is born in the humblest circumstances, but He is the second person of Trinity. The Wise men around the world recognized it and they are looking for Him. They are looking for Him in the place the human categories will indicate. He is the King of kings and so logically the wise men went looking Him in the palace. But He is not King like other kings. The human logic does not function here. The inspiration of the wise men is right, but the mental structure is not fit for the search of this King. They felt the divine presence on earth, but they searched Him with mundane logic. God is with us, transcending every human logic. This is what we must understand with the incarnation. The incarnation of God transcends every human logic. That is why the wise men after meeting the infant Jesus had to leave to their own country by a different way. A way that transcends the human logic and normal thinking. Let’s reflect: The incarnation of the second person of the Holy Trinity leads us to a different level of thinking that transcends all human logic.
