Palm Sunday
Gospel: Matthew 21:1-11On Palm Sunday, the Church places before us a striking contrast: the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem and, within the same liturgy, the solemn proclamation of His Passion. As the crowd welcomes Him with joy, waving branches and proclaiming Him King, the shadow of the Cross already lies ahead. In this humble yet triumphant entry, we see that Jesus does not avoid suffering; He freely embraces it. His kingship is not one of power and domination, but of self-giving love that transforms suffering into glory. The road into Jerusalem is already the road to Calvary, and yet it is also the path to Resurrection. Palm Sunday invites us to understand that true triumph in the Christian life is not the absence of the Cross, but its embrace. In walking with Christ through His Passion, we discover that what appears as defeat becomes, in God’s plan, the doorway to life and glory. Let’s reflect: Do I have the courage to embrace the Cross with Christ and follow Him in this Holy Week, trusting that it will lead me to true glory?
