First Saturday - let us entrust ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Gospel: Matthew 17:14-20In today's Gospel, the disciples are unable to heal a boy because their faith is weak. Jesus gently reminds them that even faith as small as a mustard seed can move mountains, for its power lies not in its size but in the One in whom it is placed. Christian discipleship is therefore founded not on our abilities, experience, or confidence in ourselves, but on unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. When our eyes remain fixed on Him, obstacles become opportunities for His grace to act. On this First Saturday, we entrust ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the woman of perfect faith. From the Annunciation to the foot of the Cross, Mary never ceased to trust her Son, even when His ways remained hidden. She teaches us that faith is not merely believing that God exists, but confidently surrendering our lives into His hands. Saint Dominic also lived this profound trust, dedicating his life to preaching Christ with unwavering conviction. Every disciple is called to build life upon this same foundation. The stronger our faith in Jesus becomes, the more freely His power can work through us, accomplishing what would be impossible by our own strength. Let’s reflect: Is my discipleship truly founded on a living and trusting faith in Jesus, allowing His power, not my own, to guide and transform my life?
