This year’s upcoming Advent season will feature a special pastoral initiative that arose from the desire to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the death of our Founding Priest. To introduce his life, spiritual legacy, and prophetic charism to a wide audience of the faithful, Rorate meditations for both children and adults have been prepared and are open to the public. The initiative has been met with kindness and support from the Metropolitan Archbishop of Wrocław, Archbishop Józef Kupny, who has officially approved the distribution of these materials to interested parishes. Thanks to this, pastors throughout the diocese will be able to incorporate this content into this year’s Rorate Masses, giving the faithful an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the life and mission of the Founding Father. The media component of this project consists of Rorate reflections for adults, which—under the collective title “Yesterday and Today with the Defender of Women”—were recorded at the Radio Rodzina studio in Wrocław. The radio programs were recorded by our sisters: Sr. Barbara Mroziak and Sr. Rachela Wąsowicz. This series will be broadcast on the station throughout this year’s Advent season, serving as a daily aid in spiritual preparation for Christmas and providing a space for reflection on the relevance of our Founder’s message in the modern world. A unique element of the artistic and prayerful setting of this project is a new song composed specifically for this occasion. Jakub Tomalak, a well-known and highly regarded Polish composer of Christian music, has composed a moving piece based directly on the text of a prayer—the Act of Entrustment to the Mother of God—which we know very well. This song will be broadcast on Radio Rodzina every day, immediately following the Rorate reflections, uniting the Word with prayer through song.
We encourage all parishes and individuals to join this initiative and experience Advent together with Father Jan Schneider—Defender of Women.
Sr. Barbara Mroziak
