27th Sunday in Ordinary Time
Gospel Mark 10:2-16
“So then, what God has united, man must not divide”. This is very clear message from Jesus Christ. Because God is love and He unites and not divides. In this specific context, this is about the union of a man and a woman in a family. A family is born in the unity created by God. And this unity must not be divided by the decision of a man or a woman. Because this is a unity willed by God. This unity is to be nurtured and cultivated every moment in the family. What is necessary in this, for each person who live in this unity, in the family, is to grow in this unity, and to overcome the temptations of division. And this is done in unity, together. Not one alone and not one trying to grow alone. The division comes when one thinks only about himself or herself. In the family, both man and woman, think together. This unity needs space for forgiveness, for restarts, for understanding, for a lot of other virtues. But the basis of this is to understand that it’s unity what God wants and not the division. Then we can grow in unity. Let’s reflect: How much I work and I pray for the unity in the families?
