Holy Saturday
On Holy Saturday, we are invited to contemplate death in the light of Christ. Death, which appears as the ultimate silence and separation, is entered by Him not as a defeated victim, but as the One who transforms it from within. By dying, Christ descends into the deepest human fear and fills it with His living presence. What was once a closed and final door becomes, in Him, a passage, no longer an end, but a crossing held in God. To die in Christ means that even in death we are not abandoned or lost; we are sustained, accompanied, and embraced. The Cross has already revealed this truth: death does not have the final word, love does. And so, even in the stillness of Holy Saturday, in the weight of sorrow and the silence of the tomb, there remains a hidden but certain hope: that where Christ has entered, life will emerge, and where love has been given, nothing is ever truly lost. Let’s reflect: Do I believe that in Christ even death becomes a passage, and that I am held by His love beyond every fear and loss?
