On Sunday, January 11, 2026, together with the parishioners of Mieszkowice, we prayed during the Eucharist at St. George's Church for the gift of beatification of the Servant of God, Fr. Jan Schneider. It has become a tradition for us Marian Sisters to come in January, despite the snow, frost, and blizzards, to the hometown of the founder of our congregation. This time, the occasion for communal prayer and thanksgiving to God for his life, baptism, and faith was the 202nd anniversary of the birth of this defender of women from Wrocław, a humble priest who, in the second half of the 19th century, saved morally endangered, poor servant girls in Wrocław. Currently, as the process of beatification of Fr. Jan is underway, prayers for his elevation to the altars and inclusion among the blessed of the Church are resounding with increasing power in many different places, not only in Wrocław, but also in the Diocese of Opole, and especially in his hometown of Mieszkowice. We thank everyone for these heartfelt prayers.
