Friday of the 4th week of Lent
Gospel: John 7:1-2,10,25-30
In today’s Gospel, Jesus moves quietly yet decisively, aware of the tension around Him, yet firmly rooted in His identity and mission. He does not act according to human expectations or pressures because His mission is not His own, it is the mission of the Father. “I really come from Him,” He declares, revealing that His life is entirely grounded in this relationship. Everything He does flows from this origin and this belonging. During Lent, we are invited to rediscover this same foundation in our own lives. Our mission, our actions, and our decisions find their true meaning only when they are rooted in God. When we lose this connection, we become guided by fear, opinion, or self-interest. But when we remain anchored in the Father, like Jesus, our lives gain clarity, direction, and purpose. Lent calls us to return to this source, to live not from ourselves alone, but from the One who sends us. Let’s reflect: Lent is rooting our life and mission in God the Father, so that everything we do flows from Him who sends us.
