Friday of the 1st week of Advent
First Friday: Let's entrust ourselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Reading: Isaiah 29:17-24
Isaiah announces a beautiful reversal—forests becoming fruitful fields, the deaf hearing, the blind seeing, and the humble rejoicing in the Holy One. Advent invites us into this quiet miracle: the joy that comes not from abundance but from belonging to God. Those who are small in the eyes of the world, who carry poverty of spirit, who know their need for the Lord, these are the ones who taste the deepest joy. On this First Friday, entrusting ourselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus, we remember that His heart delights in the simple, the wounded, the seeking. It is there that Advent joy is born, not in noise or success, but in humble hearts that make room for the Child who is coming. Let’s reflect: Advent is the season in which humble and trusting hearts discover their joy in the nearness of the Lord.
