Polish-Tanzanian Mission in Indonesia

Mission Week in the Church is a special time when our eyes and hearts turn toward the farthest corners of the world. With deep gratitude, we turn our thoughts to our missionary sisters in various parts of the world, including Indonesia. It is there, in the heart of Southeast Asia, that the youngest heart of our Congregation—our newest missionary community—beats today. On the Indonesian island of Flores, in the town of Mbay, a small miracle of the universality of the Church is taking place. Our mission post is made up of sisters from Poland and Tanzania working side by side—Sr. Klaudia Olejniczak, Sr. Augusta Nyoni, and Sr. Sylwia Frączek—who have been joined by Indonesian novices and candidates. Different continents, diverse cultures, and varied experiences have come together under one charism to jointly bring the light of the Gospel. This international community is living proof that Christ’s love knows no barriers, and that a religious vocation speaks a single, universal language of love. Although the mission is still in its early stages and daily life presents many challenges for the sisters, their ministry is already bearing beautiful fruit among the local community. Every day, the sisters reach out to people, building bridges of trust and respect. They bring the Eucharistic Christ to the sick and suffering, offering comfort in their loneliness and physical frailty. Faithful to our charism, they surround local girls and women with particularly caring attention. Through formation, conversations, support, and their very presence, they show young girls how greatly valued they are in God’s eyes.

During this Mission Week, we wish to wholeheartedly honor the ministry of our sisters working in Indonesia, and we invite all visitors to our website to offer fervent prayers for this young Indonesian mission.
