Saint Mark, Evangelist – Feast
Gospel: Mark 16:15-20
On the Feast of Saint Mark the Evangelist, the Gospel places before us the missionary heartbeat of Easter: “Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.” The Resurrection can never remain enclosed within private devotion or silent admiration. The Risen Christ sends His disciples outward, because the joy of new life is meant for all creation. What the Apostles had seen and received now becomes a message to be announced, a truth to be lived, and a hope to be shared. Saint Mark, who handed on the Gospel to the Church, reminds us that proclamation is itself an act of love: to bring Christ where there is emptiness, light where there is confusion, and hope where there is fear. The Lord who sends also remains with His disciples, confirming their witness by His living presence. During the Easter season, we are invited to recognize that every believer is entrusted with this same mission. Wherever we are, by word, charity, courage, and fidelity, we are called to let the world hear that Christ is risen and alive. Let’s reflect: Easter is being sent by the Risen Christ to proclaim through our lives that He is alive and offers hope to the whole world.
