Your beginning in God, Mary. A pure start, free from evil, without any burdens. Like Eve in Paradise… Yet how different your attitude became thereafter. In complete freedom—you lived in faith and entered ever more deeply into friendship with the Most High. With your whole free heart, you responded to His invitation; each day you grew in trust, in knowing His will. Amid hardships and sufferings, you did not turn your eyes away from God, and you always wanted to serve Him. Filled with His love, you looked upon people as He did—seeing their needs, their poverty, and their worries. You rushed to offer help, comfort, and strength. Trusting in God’s mercy toward sinners, you suffered with Jesus at the Cross for the salvation of humanity, and you remain merciful toward them always. With a heart full of unwavering and tender love. Persevering and faithful to the end. Mary—the new Eve. We say this because, with the same beginning—in God, without sin, in freedom—she chose God and freedom in Him through humble service. Refuge of sinners—We trust in her merciful gaze, for though she herself is without sin, always holy, she embraces everyone with her motherly love and care, especially those who are farthest away. Like God and together with Him, she desires that everyone be saved. She seeks salvation for everyone. The Faithful Virgin - She never chose any sin; she was faithful to God’s love and consistent in her readiness to serve, to fulfill the Father’s will in every smallest matter—through small acts of fidelity that made up her entire faithful life.
