Gospel: John 10:22-30
In today’s Gospel, Jesus speaks words that lead us into the heart of the Resurrection mystery: “The Father and I are one.” The risen life of Christ cannot be understood apart from His perfect unity with the Father. Jesus is not an isolated figure acting on His own, but the eternal Son who lives in communion with the Father and reveals the Father’s saving will. Because He is one with the Father, His words carry divine authority, His works manifest divine power, and His Resurrection becomes the triumph of God Himself over death. The life He gives to His sheep is secure because it flows from this unbreakable unity of love and being. “No one can snatch them out of my hand… no one can snatch them out of the Father’s hand.” In Christ and in the Father there is one saving embrace. On the memorial of Saint Peter Chanel and Saint Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort, we remember that true holiness springs from union with God and bears fruit in mission. During the Easter season, we are invited to trust the divine communion revealed in Christ and to rest our lives within the hands of the Father and the Son. Let’s reflect: Easter is trusting the risen Son who is one with the Father and resting our lives within their unbreakable saving love.
