Wednesday of the 2nd week of Eastertide
Gospel: John 3:16-21
In today’s Gospel, we hear one of the most profound proclamations of faith: “God so loved the world that he gave his only Son.” Here we discover the deepest meaning of Easter. The Resurrection is not an isolated miracle, but the sublime expression of God’s love brought to fulfillment. The Father gives the Son, the Son offers Himself unto death, and in rising again opens eternal life to the world. Easter reveals that divine love is stronger than sin, stronger than darkness, and stronger than death itself. It is love that does not condemn, but saves; love that does not abandon, but seeks; love that enters human brokenness in order to restore it from within. To believe in Christ is to step out of darkness into this radiant truth. During the Easter season, we are invited not only to admire this love, but to receive it personally and allow our lives to become a response to the God whose greatest language is the gift of His Son. Let’s reflect: Easter is receiving the victorious love of God revealed in the Risen Christ and stepping from darkness into the light of new life.
