Saint Mary Magdalen – Feast
Gospel: John 20:1-2,11-18On the morning of the Resurrection, Saint Mary Magdalene remains at the tomb weeping, unable to leave the One she loves. Even death cannot extinguish her love for Christ. It is precisely this faithful love that prepares her to encounter the Risen Lord. When Jesus calls her by name, her tears are transformed into joy, her mourning into mission. Love proves stronger than death because death cannot separate those who belong to Christ. The Resurrection is not merely the victory of life over the grave; it is the triumph of divine love over everything that seeks to destroy it. The same love that drew Mary Magdalene to the tomb now sends her to announce the greatest news in history: "I have seen the Lord." Every disciple is invited to experience this transforming encounter. Whenever we remain faithful to Christ through sorrow, disappointment, or loss, His risen presence meets us where we are and fills our hearts with new hope. Christian faith proclaims that love rooted in Christ never ends. It survives suffering, overcomes sin, conquers death, and opens the way to eternal life. The Risen Lord continues to call each of us by name, inviting us to discover that His love is stronger than every fear, every failure, and even death itself. Let’s reflect: Do I trust that the love of the Risen Christ is stronger than every loss, fear, and sorrow in my life, allowing Him to transform my grief into hope?
