Presence is enough.

Today’s moment at the village intersection lingered with me as a quiet parable of life. A old woman, dressed well, stood still in the middle of the road, waiting for someone, unmoving, while the world adjusted itself around her. Without confrontation or drama, traffic simply flowed, turning gently as if she were a traffic island. It made me think that some people choose not to rush, not to force their way forward, but to remain present and let life reveal itself as it passes by. There is something unexpectedly peaceful in that posture: a silent trust that one does not always need to push or control, that sometimes meaning is found in standing one’s ground and allowing the journey of others to unfold around us. In a world obsessed with speed and urgency, her stillness felt like a reminder that presence itself can shape the path of life.
