4th Sunday of Easter
Readings: Acts 2:14a, 36–41;1 Peter 2:20b–25; John 10:1–10On this Fourth Sunday of Easter, the Word of God shows us how the risen life of Christ becomes effective within us. In the Acts of the Apostles, Peter calls the people to repentance and baptism. Repentance is more than regret for sin; it is an opening of the heart to the Resurrection, a turning away from what closes us in death and a turning toward the living Christ who renews us. In the First Letter of Peter, we learn that patient endurance in doing good is precious before God. United to the suffering and risen Lord, even our trials can become places of grace and transformation. In the Gospel, Jesus proclaims: “I am the gate.” He is the secure entrance into life, the passage through which we find safety, freedom, and true pasture. To enter through Him is to dwell within the protection of divine love and the abundance of risen life. Easter therefore is not only the victory of Christ over death, but our invitation to repentance, perseverance, and trustful entrance into the One who is our gate and salvation. Let’s reflect: Easter is opening our hearts to the Risen Christ, persevering in good through trials, and entering through Him who is the gate into true life.
