Sunday 2 July

Sunday 2 July

13th Sunday in Ordinary Time
First reading – 2 Kings 4:8-11,13-16
The hospitality of this woman ends us with a blessing from God. She insisted the prophet to stay and eat at her place. Then she recognized the holiness in the prophet. But it does not stop there. Then she takes the initiative to build a small room and resting place for the prophet. All these without expecting anything from the prophet. And the servant of Elisha recognizes what is missing for her and proposes to the prophet. That blessing is granted to them. In this reading we can see how much we can be generous towards others and how much God will take of us when we are generous without expecting anything. Let’s reflect: Am I growing in generosity?

Picnic in Mieszkowice

Picnic in Mieszkowice

On Saturday, July 1, we celebrated another anniversary of the ordination of our Founder Priest, John Schneider. This year, the joint celebration was held in Rev. John’s hometown. Many sisters came to the church in Mieszkowice to celebrate the solemn Mass together with parishioners. After the Mass, everyone was invited to the place where Father Founder’s family home stood and a picnic was held there. There was not only feasting together, but also dancing, competitions and many attractions for children. It was a beautiful family celebration at Father John’s family home.
