Gospel – Luke 4:31-37
“But Jesus said sharply, ‘Be quiet! Come out of him!’ And the devil, throwing the man down in front of everyone, went out of him without hurting him at all”. The presence of Jesus in our life calls for change. The unclean devil recognizes the presence of Jesus, acknowledges who is Jesus. But it’s not ready to change. It’s easy to acknowledge Jesus but difficult to make the change which Jesus calls for. Jesus wants to free us from the unclean spirit. He sharply asks the unclean spirit to get out of that person. The devil threw the person down in front of everyone and went out of him without hurting him at all. In this act, we can relate an important point. Many times, when we can humble ourselves in front of everyone, the devil in us will leave us. Often, we are not ready to humble ourselves in front of others and the devil remains. We don’t do because we think that it will hurt us. It will not us. Because there is Jesus in our life. Don’t be afraid to be humble in front of others because the presence of Jesus asks that. Let’s reflect: How much courage have I to humble myself before others?
