Tuesday of the 1st week of Lent
First reading – Isaiah 55:10-11
Lent is a time of deep trust in the transforming power of God’s Word. In Isaiah 55:10-11, God assures us that His Word is never spoken in vain; it always fulfills its purpose, just as rain and snow nourish the earth and bring forth new life. This promise invites us to open our hearts to the Word of God, believing that it will bring about real change within us. When we listen attentively, reflect prayerfully, and act upon His Word, it works within us—softening what is hardened, strengthening what is weak, and cleansing what is impure. Even when we do not immediately see its effects, we trust that God is at work, shaping us into His image. Lent calls us to deepen this faith, allowing the Word to penetrate our hearts, transform our minds, and guide our steps, so that we may bear the fruits of true conversion. Let’s reflect: Lent is believing in the power of the Word of God which will transform me.
