Monday of the 3rd week of Eastertide
First reading Acts 6:8-15
Eastertide is a season not only of rejoicing in the Resurrection, but of recognizing its transformative power in the lives of believers. In the account of Stephen, we see how a man who lived in intimate relationship with the Risen Christ became a vessel of grace, strength, and boldness. His life was marked by signs and wonders—not for spectacle, but as the natural outpouring of the Spirit who dwelled within him. Stephen’s fearless witness in the face of false accusations shows us that the victory of Easter is not merely a future promise, but a present reality that gives meaning and courage even in persecution. The lies spoken against him could not dim the light on his face, which shone like that of an angel. The world saw a man on trial, but heaven saw a faithful servant conformed to Christ. Stephen’s example invites us to live with the same Easter conviction: that truth may be resisted, even violently, but it can never be defeated. In every circumstance, especially in times of trial, the Resurrection calls us to stand firm in the light, knowing that Christ’s victory is already at work in us. Let’s reflect: Easter is the present and victorious reality of Christ’s Resurrection, empowering believers to live with courage, grace, and unwavering commitment to the truth, even in the face of suffering and opposition.

3rd Sunday of Easter
Readings John 21:1-19
On this Third Sunday of Easter, the Gospel of John (21:1–19) offers a powerful reflection on how the Risen Christ continues to meet us today, especially in our failures, our hunger, and our call to love. In the scene by the Sea of Tiberias, Jesus appears not with judgment but with patient mercy, standing at the shore of the disciples’ fruitless efforts and inviting them to begin again—echoing Pope Francis’s teaching that God’s mercy transforms failure into new mission. Christ then prepares breakfast for His disciples, mirroring the Eucharist in which He continues to nourish us, a reminder that true Christian life begins with an encounter with the living Lord. Finally, Jesus entrusts His flock to Peter not because of perfection, but because of love—underscoring the truth that love, not success or power, is the foundation of all Christian vocation. This Gospel scene, enriched by Pope Francis’s legacy, calls the Church to walk the path of mercy, encounter, and love as the surest way of following the Risen Christ in the world today. Let’s reflect: Easter, is the ongoing encounter with the Risen Christ who meets us in our failures, nourishes us in love, and sends us forth in mission grounded in mercy and heartfelt devotion.

Saints Philip and James, Apostles – Feast
First Saturday – let us entrust ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
First reading 1 Corinthians 15:1-8
On this feast of Saints Philip and James, the Church invites us to reflect more deeply on the foundation of our faith which is the unchanging Gospel rooted in the lived encounter with the Risen Lord. Saint Paul, writing to the Corinthians, urgently reminds them and us that “the gospel will save you only if you keep believing exactly what I preached to you; believing anything else will not lead to anything.” This is not a call to rigid ideology, but to fidelity to a truth that was not invented, but received. The Apostles did not proclaim abstract concepts or evolving philosophies; they handed on what they themselves had seen, heard, and touched, the living Christ who had triumphed over death. Their preaching was born from this transformative encounter, and it became the bedrock of the Church’s mission. In a world tempted by novelty and customization even in matters of faith, today’s celebration reminds us that salvation flows not from adapting the Gospel to suit our preferences, but from allowing the Gospel to reshape us. This Easter season, we are called once more to renew our trust in the apostolic witness, to cling to what we have received, and to let the truth of the Resurrection be not just a doctrine we recite, but an encounter with the person of Risen Christ. Let’s reflect: Easter is the living power of the Risen Christ, faithfully received and proclaimed through the apostolic witness, which calls us to be transformed by the unchanging truth of the Gospel.

May 3, 2025 | NEWS
On Tuesday, April 22, 2025, during the Easter octave, we were able to inaugurate our first house in Indonesia. It was a great joy for us to see how many guests had accepted our invitation: priests, religious, representatives of public institutions, even a representative of the provincial government of the island of Flores, as well as friends, helpers, and residents of the town and surrounding area. We had already received a great deal of help and support in the preparations for this day. Our great friend and helper, Fr. Tadeusz (a Steyler missionary), had organized many things: over a hundred chairs were provided and tents were set up to protect the guests from the sun. On the day itself, many helpers arrived to take care of the provision and preparation of drinks and food, as well as serving the guests. We ourselves, the sisters, the postulants, and the candidates, had already been busy the day before with the decorations and festive arrangements.
It was a joyful celebration, which began with a festive prayer service. A representative of the bishop (who unfortunately could not attend that day), Dean Aster, had prepared it and at the end he blessed our house and the individual rooms. Afterwards, our postulants and the candidate delighted us all with a dance in the traditional clothing of the country, which was rewarded with much applause and inspired our guests and also us sisters to dance ourselves. Then everyone was invited to the buffet, and the celebration gradually came to an end with good food, lively conversation, and getting to know one another. May God’s blessing accompany the work of our sisters on Flores, so that they may be a blessing to the people there.

Saint Athanasius, Bishop, Doctor
Friday of the 2nd week of Eastertide
First Friday: Let’s entrust ourselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
First reading Acts 5:34-42
In Acts 5:34–42, the intervention of Gamaliel, a respected teacher of the law, offers a moment of surprising clarity and wisdom amid growing hostility toward the Apostles. He counsels restraint, suggesting that if their movement is of human origin, it will collapse on its own, but if it is of God, no force can stop it, and opposing it would be to fight against God Himself. This scene is a profound Eastertide reflection: the Resurrection of Christ has set into motion a divine work that cannot be silenced or undone by human resistance. The Apostles, emboldened by the Risen Lord, willingly embrace suffering for the sake of His Name, rejoicing not in triumphalism, but in faithfulness to God’s will. In the face of persecution, they do not retaliate or despair, they persevere in hope, daily proclaiming Jesus as the Christ. Gamaliel’s wisdom, though perhaps cautious and uncommitted, nonetheless speaks a vital truth for every believer: our task is not to control outcomes, but to align ourselves with the will of God and to trust that His purposes, often hidden and unfolding gradually, will prevail. Let’s reflect: Easter is the season in which we celebrate the triumph of God’s will through the Resurrection of Christ, inviting us to live with bold trust in His enduring purpose, even amid trials.
