Keep watch, simple things make life beautiful!

Keep watch, simple things make life beautiful!

It happens that a certain contradiction creates a particular situation, where looking for the big you lose sight of the small, looking for great you lose hold of the simple… Busy preparing a seminar on “loving the neighbor”, you forget to love the ones who live with you! Busy reading a book on “patience”, you lose patience when someone interrupts you! Concentrated on finding a way to help the poor, you lose sight of the person who is near to you and needs a kind word from you! These contradictions take away the natural beauty of your life. Keep watch, simple things make life beautiful!

Laziness

Laziness

Laziness is our decision. It is a decision not to do what you have to do in the right time because you prefer to do something else which is more comfortable. It is always a choice of comfort over what is ought to do. And often this choice is for a comfort short-lived. The result of this choice is closing yourself in your comfort zone which in course on time turns on you with different pressures. So, to have a future with less pressures, choose not to be lazy today! Fill your day happily doing things you should do today. Make today meaningful and tomorrow stress-free.

You are more than this criticism

You are more than this criticism

Criticism from others cannot be avoided. The first positive side is that there are honest people around. But then comes about the content of criticism and effect of criticism on us. If we are hit by criticism, it is an indication that we base principally our self-esteem on the opinion of others. And that we do things without conviction. When you face criticism, concentrate on the specific subject of criticism and not on you. Don’t take the criticism out of the context. Don’t let the criticism threaten your self-esteem. Take a moment to look to your opinion of yourselves and all the good in you. You are more than this criticism. What you are depends on how you deal with the criticism. Take the good in the criticism and make it an instrument for your betterment. Deal with it as a menu card offered to you in a restaurant!

Three questions of Epiphany

Three questions of Epiphany

In Epiphany I have three questions to share

What are you seeking?

They are searching the truth. They are searching because they have seen the star. They saw the star because they were looking to the sky at night. In order to see the star, we have to look to sky at night. The nights of our life, nights of disappoitments, nights of difficulties, nights of sadness, nights of pain… We have to look to the sky, we have to look up… To see the star. That is what we read in the first reading. Arise, shine out, Jerusalem, for you light has come, the glory of the Lord is rising on you, though night still covers the earth and darkness the peoples. Take note! The word of God says, “your light”. My light in my difficulties… This is what I search… It’s the Baby born in Bethlehem.

Where are you seeking?

There are two options. A way that leads to the place of Herod or a way that leads to Bethlehem. When we follow our interests, our wishes, our glory, our prejudices, our ego we will reach the palace of Herod. But when we follow the star, the star of love of the God, when we follow the way of faith, when we follow the Church, we will reach the manger in Bethlehem. To search our own interests and reaching in the palace could be interesting and dramatic. Consultations, Meetings, Discussion etc… But following the star in the darkness is divine and joyful. We read, “the sight of the star filled them with delight”. So, as we celebrate this feast, we have to analyse, Where are we seeking? Are we seeking our ego ora re we seeking in the path of the star?

Why are you seeking?

To pay homage. „going into the house they saw the child with his mother Mary and falling to their knees they did him homage. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts of gold and frankincense and myrrh”. In adoration they give their gifts. The same, we in adoring the God, we seek to give our treasures. That means, first we must obtain the treasures, gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh – gift of thoughts pure like gold, gift of words pleasant like frankincense and gift of actions authentic like myrrh. When we have these gifts in the treasure box of our heart, we willbe able to pay real homage to the Baby Jesus. Let’s see what we have in our heart. Each time we come to the chapel is like the three kings entering the manger. Open up your heart and give Jesus the gifts of your thoughts, words and actions.

Harmony

Harmony

Harmony is the result of your decision to prioritize the peace over your selfish interests. First inside you and then around you. It’s listening to your inside and also others and the environment around you. Because harmony is a symphony. It’s a result of considering all the elements of your environment in the right proportion and right time. Discipline the mind to follow the notes of love, respect and silence to produce harmony in the given context. In harmony you flourish together with each one around you.

Heaven opens!

Heaven opens!

  1. St. Stephan’s day celebration after Christmas is beautiful. St. Stephan saw the heaven opened. That is what happened in Christmas. Heaven is opened for us with the birth of Jesus Christ. (Acts 6: 8-10.12; 7.54-60)
  2. We face more provocations than persecutions. Provocations are a kind of persecution. Your love inside your heart is challenged. Don’t lose the love. If you don’t lose love, the Holy Spirit will inspire you what you have to say when you are provoked. (Mt 10: 17-22)
  3. So, to give testimony is not about what you say but who you are. (Mt 10: 17-22)
