Godhead deeply hidden, praying near you.
Under these signs you are truly here.
See, with all my heart I give myself to you,
because before such a miracle I am only poverty.
This year we celebrated Holy Mass together with the residents of our home in the most beautiful weather in our courtyard. It is a beautiful experience every time to meet God in the sacrament and in His nature.
Everyone prayed and sang with gratitude.
Many memories of the past were awakened and very interesting conversations about the traditions of the past took place.
Eyes, mouth and hands deceive you,
but the message of the Word reveals you to me.
What God the Son has spoken, I accept with faith;
he himself is the truth that cannot deceive.

Every year in May we go on pilgrimage with our home residents to venerate Mary in a special way. This time we visited the pilgrimage church Maria Magdalena a small church very close to Cochem with the
“miraculous Mother of the Mountain” on the Valwigerberg.
Through a church known as
“image of the miraculous mother of the mountain”.
Our Lady statue, which was created around 1400 from softwood,
which was made of soft wood around 1400,
a lively pilgrimage business developed on the Valwigerberg.
In the past, up to 2,000 pilgrims came daily on Marian feasts.
Even today, several pilgrimages take place on a smaller scale.
Yes, our residents always look forward very much to the pilgrimage. Of course, everyone gathered in front of our house very punctually for the departure. The oldest pilgrim who took part is 100 years old and a Protestant – but she didn’t let that stop her.
We presented all our intentions to Our Lady and, of course, sang the beautiful old Silesian Marian songs.
After the pilgrimage and coffee we went back home with happy residents.
One of the residents said: “Hopefully we will all be alive next year so that we can visit Our Lady on Valwigerberg again.

Saints do not fall from the sky – assures Fr. Przemyslaw Krakowczyk SAC…. Saints are people like us, just like us they come into the world in families, they have family, they have friends, etc ….
Saints live like us and yet they live as if they were out of this world.
One becomes a saint only when one learns to love as God does,” the priest gradually introduces the theme of the “Called to Holiness” retreat, which we are experiencing at the Retreat House of the Katowice Archdiocese in Kokoszyce.
This is the first series of Retreats with Sr. Dulcissima addressed to those interested in the life, mission, vocation of the servant of God. The retreat is attended by about 50 people gathered from different parts of Poland. The time of the retreat is prayer, deepened reflection, concentration, but also exchange of experiences. It is a fact that many of the retreat participants have experienced the intercession of the handmaid of God and through participation in the retreat want to get to know her more. It is touching that people who did not know each other before are now very open to each other.
During a break between conferences, a lady comes up to me and whispers : sister, it can’t end like this, that we will split up after the retreat. Then another person and another. It happened! The Group of Friends of Sister Dulcissima has been formed. Friends, they want to get to know her better, they want to help her, what’s more they want to pray and sacrifice for priests.
The mission of Sister Dulcissima’s servant of God continues.
Sister Dulcissima’s friends are eager to support the Ministers of Divine Mysteries with her help.
The next retreat is next year.
In the meantime, we stay in touch and hope to meet you at the Dulcissima Days.

Will you go with us to Lisieux to St. Theresa? I was asked by Father Theodore Suchoń, the retired custodian of the shrine of St. Teresa in Rybnik Chwałowice. I can’t hide the fact that the priest surprised me with this question, so I immediately didn’t know what to say. I heard in the receiver: please don’t worry about anything, just ask permission from your superiors. I asked Sr. Provincial Superior for her opinion, I got the green light. However, I knew that May would be a very demanding month for me. However, when I read that April 29 marks the 100th anniversary of the beatification of St. Teresa – I rejoiced heartily. I understood that this is a special time and when I thanked Fr. Theodore and said that I would go it was the Priest who calmly replied – There will be Sister Dulcissima walking in the person of a sister in the thanksgiving procession in Lisieux. I was touched. I also realized that the sender of the invitation to Lisieux that I had received from Fr. Theodore was a Carmelite saint. This is how St. Therese of the Child Jesus invited us to give thanks and adore God.
The central celebration in Lisieux was held in a solemn atmosphere. It was a great celebration! At the shrine of St. Thérèse in Lisieux, Cardinal Jean-Marc Aveline assured with simplicity of heart that St. Thérèse is teaching us as well as the whole Church today a valuable lesson. He said that St. Thérèse teaches us a Catholicism based on humility, total trust in God, and participation in Christ’s saving mission through intercessory prayer and sacrifice. The cardinal noted that Pope Pius XI called her the star of the pontificate and also pointed out that she is the word that God speaks to us because even today He shows us through her , that for Him the most important thing is humility.
Saint Teresa and Sr. Dulcissima how similar they are. This thought kept coming back to me like a boomerang. I realized, once again, that St. Teresa is a gift of heaven to Sr. Dulcissima, but also to our entire congregation.
The 100th anniversary of the beatification and also the 150th anniversary of the birth of St. Therese of the Child Jesus were events that brought together large crowds for the Eucharist in the Basilica of Lisieux. After the Mass, there was an opportunity for personal prayer and veneration of St. Therese’s relics.
With gratitude in my heart, we returned, back to Poland.
May God be glorified in His angels and saints.

A very peculiar tradition in Cochem is
is Knipp Monday – a holiday for every Cochem resident.
Once a year, one week after Easter Monday, all the eggs and other goodies left over from Easter are packed into a backpack along with a picnic blanket and off they go to a meadow slope behind the Reichsburg. There one makes oneself comfortable on the meadow, meets young and old and it is eaten in sociable being together, drunk, laughed and played music.
According to legend, on this day over 300 years ago, a young castle servant and his sweetheart wanted to meet in the village of Faid.
On his way there the servant discovered on a meadow
(today’s Knippwiese) heavily armed French troops. He crept up unnoticed and learned that an attack on the Imperial Castle was planned. He ran back as fast as he could and informed the Burgrave, who had his men prepared for defense. Thus the attack was averted the next morning and the surprised enemies were driven away.
Out of sheer gratitude, the lord of the castle henceforth appointed
the Monday after “White Sunday” to a holiday in Cochem.
Yes, and because our residents all celebrated Knipp Monday on the meadow – but now can no longer go there – we celebrated it in our house.
