OUR LADY OF FATIMA

OUR LADY OF FATIMA

Tuesday of the 6th week of Eastertide
Saints Nereus and Achilleus, Martyrs Saint Pancras, Martyr
Gospel: John 16:5-11In today’s Gospel, Jesus reveals a profound truth of the Resurrection: “It is for your own good that I am going, because unless I go, the Advocate will not come to you.” The departure of Christ through His Passion, Resurrection, and Ascension is not an absence, but the opening of a new and deeper presence through the Holy Spirit. The Resurrection therefore is inseparably connected to Pentecost. The risen Lord does not leave His disciples alone; He sends the Advocate who continues His presence, His truth, and His work within the Church and within every believer. The Holy Spirit reveals the meaning of sin, righteousness, and judgment, leading humanity into the truth manifested in Christ. Through the Spirit, the Resurrection becomes a living reality in us, not merely something remembered, but something experienced interiorly. What seemed loss becomes fulfillment; what seemed departure becomes communion. During the Easter season, we are invited to understand that Christ’s glorification opens the way for the Spirit to dwell in us, transforming our hearts and making us participants in the new life of the Risen Lord. Let’s reflect: Easter is receiving the new life of the Risen Christ through the Holy Spirit, who transforms His departure into a living presence within us.

The Ark of the Covenant

The Ark of the Covenant

“Just like the Ark of the Covenant (cf. 2 Sam 6:2ff), Mary not only gives us the One she carried in her womb; she remains forever a place full of grace, where our encounter with God took place. In the Old Testament, the Ark was a holy place where people could be in God’s presence, a place where grace could flow freely and where, in a certain sense, atonement was made for human weaknesses. It was a place of encounter where a person could contemplate God’s glory, where the cloud of glory descended from the mountain to touch the earth. Mary brings with her a holy atmosphere filled with God’s presence, offering a refuge that purifies and prepares us for an encounter with God.” /J. Langfort MC/

Mary, Ark of the Covenant, bearing within you the holy presence of God, you always remain in attentiveness, in adoration, and in trust. By looking at you and learning from you, I may come to know the taste of adoration and also become increasingly aware of the mystery of God’s presence in my heart. Intercede for me, Mother, that I may be ready to purify my heart, my intentions, and my desires. Prepare a place in me for God, a space for encounter and contemplation.

Monday 11 May

Monday 11 May

Monday of the 6th week of Eastertide Gospel: John 15:26-16:4a In today’s Gospel, Jesus opens before us the living mystery of the Holy Trinity: “When the Advocate comes whom I will send you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who proceeds from the Father, he will testify to me.” In this single phrase, we see the communion and mission of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The Father is the eternal source, the Son sends the Advocate from the Father, and the Spirit bears witness to the Son. The Resurrection therefore is not only the victory of Christ over death, but the revelation of the inner life of God into which humanity is invited. Through the Risen Christ, we are drawn into the living movement of divine love and truth that flows eternally within the Trinity. The Spirit does not speak apart from Christ, nor does Christ act apart from the Father; all is communion, relationship, and self-giving love. This divine life also becomes the strength of the disciples in times of trial and persecution. During the Easter season, we are invited to live consciously in this Trinitarian communion, allowing the Spirit of truth to guide us toward Christ and through Christ to the Father. Let’s reflect: Easter is entering through the Risen Christ into the living communion of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, guided by the Spirit of truth toward the Father.

MOST BELOVED MOTHER

MOST BELOVED MOTHER

Mary, most beloved Mother, worthy of special love and the most beautiful in your love. It was God who first loved you so deeply, and you responded with your beautiful woman’s heart, full of tenderness, gentleness, and tender closeness. It is inconceivable how great God’s trust was that He entrusted Jesus, His beloved Son, to you. He entrusted Him to your hands and heart as a tiny, defenseless child. And you did not disappoint His trust. You surrounded Jesus with tenderness simply, ordinarily, naturally, because that is truly what your heart is like; there is nothing in it but love. Thank you, dearest Mother, for the naturalness, simplicity, and certainty of your love, that God Himself was not afraid to entrust to you the greatest treasure, Jesus. Please help me to look sincerely into my heart—what does it hide within? What flows from it? What do the words I speak say about my heart? Can the people whom God entrusts to me experience God’s love through my hands?
