First Friday: Let's entrust ourselves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus
Gospel: John 1:19-28
During the Christmas season, the Gospel invites us to stand with John the Baptist and rediscover the heart of true confidence: knowing who Christ is and trusting Him completely. John does not draw security from titles or recognition; his certainty flows from his clear faith in Jesus, the Son of the Father, who is already present among the people. Christmas proclaims this same truth, that God has entered our history so that we may live in Christ, rooted in a relationship that gives meaning and courage to our lives. Saints Basil the Great and Gregory Nazianzen, masters of faith and theology, devoted their lives to defending and proclaiming this mystery: Jesus is truly the Son of the Father, and in Him alone our identity finds stability. To live in Christ, then, is to live without fear, anchored in the truth of who God is and who we are before Him. Christmas continues to call us to this mature faith, where confidence is born not from self-assurance, but from believing fully in Jesus Christ. Let’s reflect: Christmas is living with full confidence in Christ, rooted in faith in Jesus, the Son of the Father, whose presence gives us identity, courage, and lasting security.
