The Epiphany of the Lord
Readings: Isaiah 60:1-6; Ephesians 3:2-3,5-6; Matthew 2:1-12
The Epiphany reveals the expansive reach of God’s saving light, a light that refuses to remain hidden or confined. Isaiah’s vision comes alive as nations are drawn toward the brightness of the Lord, guided not by power or force but by a star that quietly announces the birth of a King. Saint Paul names this moment as a mystery now unveiled by the Spirit: in Christ, all peoples are invited into the same promise, sharing one hope and one inheritance. The journey of the Magi embodies this truth—they come from afar, attentive to the light they have been given, and find not a throne of dominance but a child who is light for all nations. Epiphany reminds us that God makes Himself visible so that humanity may seek, recognize, and adore. The King who is born does not illuminate a single people alone; He shines for the whole world, inviting every heart to rise, walk in His light, and discover the joy of salvation revealed. Let’s reflect: Epiphany is the manifestation of Christ as light for all nations, when God reveals His saving presence to the world and draws every people to seek, recognize, and adore the King made visible by the Spirit.
