Monday of the 4th week of Lent
Gospel: John 4:43-54In today’s Gospel, a royal official comes to Jesus pleading for the healing of his dying son. Jesus simply tells him, “Go; your son will live.” The Gospel highlights a decisive moment of faith: “The man believed what Jesus had said and started on his way.” He does not see the miracle immediately; he does not receive visible proof before leaving. Yet he trusts the word of Jesus and begins the journey home. This is the essence of faith, trusting the word of Christ enough to move forward even before the result is visible. During Lent, we are invited to deepen this kind of faith: not waiting for certainty or signs before acting, but allowing the word of Jesus to guide our steps. True faith begins when we believe His word and walk forward in trust. Let’s reflect: Lent is trusting the word of Jesus and moving forward in faith even before we see the result.
