Gospel: John 5:17-30In today’s Gospel, Jesus reveals a profound truth about His relationship with the Father: the Father, who is the source of life, has made the Son the source of life as well. Everything that the Father does, the Son does in communion with Him. This teaching shows why having a relationship with Jesus is essential for our spiritual life. To encounter Christ is to encounter the very life of God. He is not simply a teacher or messenger; He is the living channel through whom divine life reaches us. Saint Cyril of Jerusalem, remembered today, dedicated his ministry to helping believers understand and live this mystery of faith. During Lent, we are invited to deepen our personal relationship with Jesus, listening to His word and entrusting our lives to Him. When we remain close to Him, we remain connected to the very source of life that flows from the Father. Let’s reflect: Lent is deepening our relationship with Jesus so that the life that flows from the Father may also flow within us.
