Monday of week 5 in Ordinary Time
Reading: Mark 6:53-56
In today’s Gospel, people recognize Jesus and bring the sick to Him with a simple yet profound faith: they believe that even touching the fringe of His cloak is enough to heal. No long explanations, no conditions, only trust in His saving presence. And the Gospel tells us that all who touched Him were cured. This scene invites a deeply personal prayer: “So let Him touch me.” Often, we carry wounds we hide, fatigue we normalize, and pains we accept as inevitable. Yet Jesus passes close to us every day, in prayer, in the Word, in the sacraments, and in the quiet moments of life. Healing begins when we dare to approach Him and allow ourselves to be touched by His mercy. Today’s reflection calls us to move from knowing about Jesus to encountering Him, trusting that His touch still heals, restores, and makes us whole. Let’s reflect: Where do I need to let Jesus touch me today, trusting that His healing presence is enough to restore what is wounded in me?
