First Saturday - let us entrust ourselves to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
Reading: Isaiah 30:19-21,23-26
Isaiah describes a transformation so radiant that ordinary light seems dim beside it—moonlight shining like the sun, and the sun sevenfold in brilliance. Such is the world when God draws near. At the Incarnation, heaven touched earth, not with thunder but with the cry of a Child, and suddenly the wounds of humanity found a Healer. Advent reminds us that Christ comes to bind the bruised, to restore what is broken, to illuminate even the corners of life where sorrow hides. On this First Saturday, placing ourselves under the Immaculate Heart of Mary and recalling Saint Nicholas’ hidden generosity, we remember that God’s light often arrives through small acts of mercy. When we welcome Jesus, even gently and quietly, the light grows within us, pain begins to mend, hope awakens, and the world brightens beyond measure. Let’s reflect: Advent is the time when we await the healing nearness of God, the moment when divine light enters our wounds, restores what is broken, and brightens our lives with hope through the humble coming of Christ.
