Thursday of the 3rd week of Lent
Gospel: Luke 11:14-23In today’s Gospel, Jesus heals a man possessed by a mute spirit, and the crowd witnesses the power of God at work. Yet some refuse to recognize this divine action and try to explain it away. Jesus responds clearly: the Kingdom of God is present where the power of God liberates and restores. This Gospel reminds us that discipleship requires a clear choice. We cannot remain neutral. “Whoever is not with me is against me,” Jesus says, emphasizing that belonging to the Kingdom means standing with Him. During Lent, we are invited to examine where we truly stand in our daily decisions, attitudes, and loyalties. To stand with Jesus means allowing His truth to guide us, His mercy to transform us, and His mission to shape our lives. In choosing Him, we enter into the living reality of the Kingdom of God already at work among us. Let’s reflect: Lent is choosing to stand with Jesus so that our lives may belong fully to the Kingdom of God.
